I’ve rashly decided to start running again. Actually running isn’t really accurate. It’s more of a jog, 0kay, a shuffle – but it’s a start. I won’t bore you with the gory details but due to several injuries over the last couple of years any enthusiasm for running was countered with some pain which tended to take the wind out of me before I’d even started. Anyway, here we are again…
So, this afternoon we shuffled off to Sports Direct in Cardiff Bay. A couple of pairs of reasonably priced walking boots were purchased for Jennifer and I, plus a nice set of black, understated Asics to enable me to break the world shuffling record.
Have to say, I know Mike Ashley (Sports Direct’s owner) gets a lot of negative press but the staff there are a credit to him. They couldn’t be more helpful. If I could buy from an independent, I probably would but, by buying local, at least some young people from Cardiff have a job and I’m not just supporting Ebay or Amazon or some faceless, online store.
So tomorrow’s the day. It’ll be minor triumph or a major disaster. We’ll see.
