Okay I know there’s no point getting dressed as if I’m going to a meeting (before the Corona outbreak), but I’m missing my Vale boutiques, and my favourite pastime of buying clothes, like you wouldn’t believe.
I’m mostly dressing in gym wear (if only to look reasonably put together to greet the delivery man or clapping for the NHS workers every Thursday) but as buying clothes is part of my DNA, I’m starting to feel jittery.
“Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life, so you bought some sweatpants.”
Karl Lagerfeld
When this is all over, and it will be, if I have any money left in the kitty, here is a boutique I’ll certainly be hitting, and these are the reasons why.
Tallia, Cowbridge
Owner Sue Jones opened the boutique in 2017 and caters for ages 25 upwards with sizes ranging from 8 to 22. She tries to keep to an affordable smart/casual look that you can wear to a variety of occasions with brands such as Rails, James Lakeland, Goa Goa, Rino & Pelle, K-Design, Liverpool Jeans, Luella and Libby Loves.
Sue also sells accessories such as stunning jewellery and handbags. There’s also a selection of lovely colourful scarves to finish any outfit.
Sue has also just introduced a lovely brand of candles from Flamingo.
Gift vouchers of any value are available to purchase from the boutique. Obviously the shop isn’t open at the moment but you can give Sue a ring and she can take payment over the phone and deliver your goodies to you (safe distancing rules in place), or she can keep them in the shop for you for when this craziness is over.
