We’re all conscious that our diets are probably not as good as they could be. Eat more vegetables, cut down on carbs, lose the sugar, watch your salt intake, don’t drink fizzy pop… you know what? Some days, it’s just nice to have what you want and enjoy it.

So with this in mind, we headed for the Goodsheds in Barry on a Thursday lunchtime in November to sample the fayre.

This was all about sharing. Not a lot of food but enough. We ordered a few coffees from Academy, really nice ribs and curly fries from Kapow Ribs (strange name), and topped them off with a selection of donuts (and shake) from Whocult (even stranger name!).

Yes, pretty strange name, but cracking donuts. Anyway, everything was excellent and we left feeling like we’d actually had some fun food. Highly recommended.

There’s a lot more to the Goodsheds. If you haven’t been, there are a range of eateries and quite a few cool, indie businesses located there (including our autumn issue cover star Marina Storina).
