The Cardiff 10K, powered by leading Welsh charity Kidney Wales, announced a new chapter for one of the UK’s top 5 road races with a Nation Radio Wales as title sponsor and a new flat and fast city route. The date has been set for The 2018 Nation Radio Cardiff 10K, taking place on Sunday 2 of September 2018 with increased capacity for a planned 10,000 runners. Entries will open on New Year’s Day with an early bird discount available for the first 750 applications completed in the 10K race.

After a record-breaking event in 2017 which saw over 8,000 people take to the streets of the city centre, The Nation Radio Cardiff 10K will soon share with Cardiff Council further details on its revamped flat and fast route.

Leading UK and Welsh Athlete Dewi Griffiths, winner of the 2017 race said: “The Cardiff 10k is one of the leading UK 10K running events and I was honoured to win it this year. However, it was the 8,000 runners in 2017 along with the supporters that created a great atmosphere and that made such a difference to everyone on the day.

Planning is well underway for the 2018 race, with some fantastic local sponsors already on board to support making this the biggest and best race yet.  In addition to Nation Radio as title sponsor, Brecon Carreg will be the race’s official water supplier, our running specialist retailer Run and Become, Cardiff Council and finally Eurobond who are the sponsors of the 2018 Corporate Challenge. For more information on sponsorship opportunities contact the team on team@kidneywales.cymru
