It’s Thursday 16th November and I just happened to be strolling through Cowbridge on my way to the bank (NatWest as it happens, Barclays hardly ever opens in Cowbridge these days).
My experience of local art groups is generally one of disappointment; enthusiastic but talentless triers basically having a go.
Not so here. There are some truly exceptional pieces on display. I have a few firm favourites among the acrylics and oils but one lady’s work really caught my eye – Sandra Wintle (I hope I’ve remembered her name correctly. One gorgeous portrait and a few abstract landscapes are, for me, the stars of the show.
Also, note that pieces are being sold so the exhibition is changing as the days go by. Cowbridge is well worth a visit if you’re a foodie – throw in some decent art and you’ve got a reason not to be bored for a few hours over the next two or three weeks.

While in Cowbridge…
Check out the excellent Happy Days Vintage Homestore – great cakes, good tea and coffee and plenty of stalls to browse through. I’ve found some real gems there over the years.
