Barry boxer Lee Selby successfully defended his IBF Featherweight Belt against Eric Hunter last night and it was a joy to watch despite Lee giving us fans a heart flutter in round two after a flash knock down by Hunter.
I often see Lee putting in the miles around Barry and, as a boxing fan myself, admire his determination and dedication to the sport. He has many great fights to come and I think he can only mature as a fighter. He’s the type of guy that rises to the occasions and, by his own admission, needs a big crowd to get him going.
There should be plenty of opportunities in the future with good domestic challengers stalking him and the possibility of unifying world titles.
Yes, in the boxing world, the fighting pride of Barry is definitely one to watch.
On the same bill, Anthony Joshua won the IBF Heavyweight World Title. Read about it here.
