Anyway, if you’re interested in fungi and mushrooms and you live in Cardiff and The Vale Of Glamorgan, then you’ll be pleased to know that you’re not completely weird and that there are others like you out there. Not many I grant you but we’re certainly in the hundreds if not thousands.
One great little Facebook group I recently joined is called Glamorgan Fungus Group and I can confirm that they are a very friendly bunch (they have a cute logo too). As I type, they have 419 members. www.facebook.com/groups/GlamorganFungusGroup
There are plenty more Facebook groups out there if you search and you’ll soon finding your knowledge level rising from pretty much zero (like me) to, well, whatever you want it to be? For me, I quite like the look of fungi and mushrooms – they are completely unique in their texture and form. I love the fact that some taste so good (to die for?) and that some literally will kill you.
Remember though, mushrooms and fungus can be deeply unpleasant if ingested so always be super cautious.
